It is not off but simply, it makes sense if you know the main character (it will be explained in story). That he's a half-human and half-mutant. Don't ask why, it will clear up later in the game. but yeah guys thanks for support.

Got good news, rather unbelievable news! Xenus 3 officially hit a big milestone, it now includes a 100% from scratch weapon set made by no one else but... Paul! Dude I gotta thank you LOADS for those, they definitely add up to the atmosphere. Big thanks man, BIG thanks

Image

Also I DON'T SHOW the screen with the weapon to show off. But merely to tell that there is PROGRESS and that i'm back to kick some ass in mapping! :D

I am 100% fucking pissed. MY monitor today (Samsung Syncmaster 740n) decided to say goodbye and does not display anything anymore (and that's when it's enabled). Not sure whenever it's a faulty VGA cable or monitor itself. I'll check it later. Damn! And I barely was starting "The Awakening" yesterday for Xenus 3, d'oh. Fucking hell. Why I must have so much random issues!?

On other news. I pretty much am retired from mapping for my own Zero Invasion, i'll people do the rest of maps but of course final map will be mine but that's like 6-7 months away. DAMN and when I was starting up in Xenus 3. D'oh!

I don't have much to say, just dropping by and letting you know that Zero Invasion has been updated and includes a new map by Dj-Jo. A good one for a newbie to add (I helped him rebalance the map and teach him basic gameplay things). Oh by the way, I've got something to present.

Image

Btw Paul, yes i'm taking your doc seriously  so you can see some effects of that, despite well having lots to do still. Small changes like these, make my day. and D'oh, blame the low resolution of the pic, for the missing textures :P

Bad news, today my 2-years old XP decided to say "Fuck you" and stopped working on the big computer. Don't worry, I have all my projects/ports/utils/resources backed up (from yesterday). Guess i'll have to edit on this laptop (gonna use big PC's mouse). Heh.

Spoiler: Xenus 3
Now the mountains (on both sides of the canyon) look how they should have looked like at the start (Thanks Paul for giving me ideas on how it should look like).
Spoiler: Zero Invasion
Ah not much here, slowly developing the basic layout haha.

Do I have say anything? MAYBE except that this light consists of 500+ translucent sidedefs to emulate the "fake HDR" effect.

New WAD Journal (Xenus 3 hit a milestone)

Before you moderators/admins ask why I discontinued the old one and made a new one? It's simple my dear friends, let the old thread die in peace, it should be for archive purposes only now. I have changed much since I left this lovely place and switched to ST forums but i'm back. as the situation in Skulltag itself isn't too good. Mainly because crap wads are played more than cooler ones, what a shit. Anywho, i'm back and i'm ready to kick some ass! Perhaps I should show you what I have finished since I left, from oldest finished works to newest ones and current WIPs. I have so much to show you guys, I missed all of you. (Though there have been new release threads by me. they're irrevelant now).

Xenus 2 The New nightmare (05/28/08) - Boom compatible
Authors: Alter, Xaver, Pikkuhippi and Corpsegrinder aka Old Nexus Team
Spoiler: Screenshots
Download: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15314
Comment: This was actually a proper finished sequel to Xenus: The Lost Base however it was subpar to my loved Xenus 1.5 (aka Revisited) in terms of quality (gameplay and detail)

1024-4: Director's Cut Version 2 (05/31/08) - Boom compatible
Authors: Alter & Zalewa
Spoiler: Screenshots
Download: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15316
Comment: Possibly final version of this wad. There was version 3 that eliminated maps like 14 etc. however it got scrapped.

Xenus revisited (07/20/08 aka 2 days before my 16th birthday) - Boom compatible (Ultimate doom wad)
Author: Alter
Spoiler: Screenshots
Download: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15366
Comment: I have no doubt that this is my biggest masterpiece to date yet when it comes to classic wads. The wad is big, badass and hard too. Last level is MY definition of a final level in Doom 1 that is epic, long and fucking hard. For me, last level beats down the one of KDiZD's haha. You can kick my ass for that.

Dark Caliber - Alter's maps (read: leftovers - 12/27/08) - Boom compatible
Author: Alter
Spoiler: Screenshots
Download: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15532
Comment: This project was originally a 7-map project for vanilla by me and ellmo but you know guys how is it with him, starts then suddenly quits for some X r-tarded reason. Instead of slowing down, he just straight discontinued it. Well screw that, we're past it now, I released of what was originally map01, map02 and map06 (renamed to map03). This wad offers a gradual difficulty level, it starts easy but ends hard especially on UV. I don't recommend playing on UV (especially map03 which has 1024 monsters) unless you're a fan of HR/AV because it is a big challenge.

Alternative Speed Demo (04/29/09) - Vanilla doom 1 compatible
Author: Alter
Spoiler: Screenshots
Download: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=15654
Comment: Nothing special. Just a speedmap done in 8 hours with an awesome gameplay

WIP Projects
-------------------------

Xenus 3 - ETA: 2011/2012 - Gzdoom-only mod.
Author: Alter (Mapper/Story-Writer) and Paul (Music Compositor)

Story: Still in development but I guess I can spoil a bit. You play as a half-human half-mutant Implantoid, the son of a scientist which wanted Omega Soldiers to be implantoids however he got killed by his best friend Drake. However you suffer from a post-hibernation amnesia so you don't remember anything.
Spoiler: Screenshots
Comment: This is my latest upcoming Xenus wad, I cannot say too much about it though.

Zero Invasion - ETA: Mid-2010 - Skulltag Invasion
Author: Alter, Zalewa, UnTrustable and Malinku so far.

Story: When the shit invasion needs a half-assed story?
Spoiler: Screenshots
Download: http://www.phenomer.net/hosted/zero_inv ... nRev81.zip
^ Beta which has Z1INV01, Z1INV02, Z1INV04, Z2INV01, Z2INV04, Z2INV05, Z3INV01 (WIP) and Z3INV02 availble for play.

That's it pals. Have fun!
