Okay i don't know why it was crashing so much before but it randomly started working properly. I'd like to request Vsync and maybe crosshairs and weapon bobbing.

For those of you who do not have the Activision release of Wolfenstein 3D. The patch utility is now up on the downloads page for all supported OSs. Thanks go to Adam Biser for providing all of the patches.

Oh and I made the wiki public, but read only since I don't have the resources to fight spam on the wiki. I'll be slowly adding documentation there. If you would like an account contact me (preferably by email) and I should be able to set you up.

Oh wow I didn't think it would come out this soon! Good job, Blzut! :)

This doesn't tell me much. It's stable on my end (and apparently all of the testers given that I haven't heard of crashing issues). What OS? What are you doing when it crashes? Etc.

Works for me. Keep in mind that there's no freelook (or Z-axis) yet, but turning with the mouse should work fine.

It has a terrible case of the crashes. Mouse aiming does not seem to work and fullscreen is VERY unstable. Looking forward to the updates.

This is really awesome :D Finally I can play Wolf3D again without using DOSBox :3
Can't wait until Blake Stone will be officially supported, and I hope Planet Strike counts too c:

Well done in getting this out. It seems to be working just fine for me so far. :thumb:

ECWolf 1.0 Released

So now I can stop vaguely descibing what ECWolf is, since you can see for yourself! ECWolf 1.0 has been released and hopefully everything works. Oh and supposedly today is the 20th anniversary of Spear of Destiny.

A few things to note:
  • First read the release notes.
  • I don't have the patching utility working on Windows yet. For the most part, this is an issue with me and compiling on Windows. Hopefully it won't be long before I can figure out what exactly is happening there. Not a huge problem, if you have Wolf3D on Steam or you have the version that came with Return to Castle Wolfenstein, then you definitely have the right version
  • I don't have an editing guide written. If there's someone that would like to maintain a wiki for this then that would be great. Otherwise you pretty much have to go on the scripts included in ecwolf.pk3. I'll try to at least get a minimal text documentation going, but this may take a week or two. For the most part though if the name of something matches, you can assume it works like the ZDoom wiki says it should. (Of course ECWolf has drastically less features.)
I would like to give a shout out to all the people who help test the pre-release versions of ECWolf (these are the people to blame if it doesn't work):
  • Andy_Nonymous
  • Apothem
  • Bashe
  • Bouncy
  • Richter Belmont
  • wildweasel
  • Woolie Wool/Executor
Without further ado, head over to the downloads page to grab ECWolf for your platform of choice. Be sure to check out Woolie Wool/Executor's tech demo.
