Warp to MAP21 and have a look. Either you'll see Doom crates or you'll see unique tech walls.

Alternatively you can check against my hashes and the ones in the debian link I guess. Or run the patch and see what it converts to.

I never knew there were 2 different versions of Mission Pack 3. How do I find out which version I have?

There are two versions of that mission pack. The version that I list on the wiki comes from the super CD release, and as far as I can tell any other formgen release. Steam and the other Activision releases include an alternate version. Not much is really known about why this is the case, but the Activision release includes textures from Doom and a minor alteration of the layout of the final level. The formgen release contains unique textures, and so I consider that the proper version.

My personal theory is that id didn't have a copy of the pack on hand and pirated their own game (it looks like a lazy hack), but a more realistic theory is that the Activision release is an earlier prototype that was sent to id for approval and formgen was probably told to remove the connection. After a peroid of time they likely forgot about it and never noticed.

Edit: Here's a version of the patch utility which switches between the two. http://maniacsvault.net/loosefiles/patch-sd3.zip

Thanks to Blzut3 we got a list of Wolfenstein ressource file checksums here: http://maniacsvault.net/ecwolf/wiki/Game_data

I find the "Mission 3: Ultimate Challenge" checksums to be wrong. They should be like this: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=745081

Can anyone confirm any of the two to be correct or enlighten me about different release versions?
