I've taken your advice, Paul, and fixed up some areas. I've mostly just retextured things, but boy does it look much better. I swapped the black Ashwall for Ashwall3 and the compwall texture supports on the outside of the base for more appropriate metal ones. I'm keeping the grey, concrete texture for the outside pillars as it looks good to me and matches the military outpost theme I have going. If I was more inclined, I'd probably use custom textures, but that will have to wait until this project moves over to GZDoom.

Oh, and that's not a bathroom. ;P It's supposed to be a radiation/chemical clean up room, and some rad suits are stored there for later retrieval to help the player when he enters the chemical store and generator section of the outpost.

All of the "silent narrative" elements will be much more apparent once I create some appropriate custom textures.
