Re: {MAP04} Abandoned Misery
The only fileservice which I personally like is MediaFire, because of the ease with which files
can be uploaded and downloaded. There is no confusing webpage to maneuver to find the
download link. Sign up is simple and they have a service limit of 10 GB for the free Basic account..

I'll take a look at my options later; maybe I'll ask my server administrator about starting a FTP'ish webservice on my SSH account (not related to my webhost), or I'll take a peak at OneDrive and GoogleDrive public shares.

Indeed something strange and I don't know if it is just my computer. If there's something strange
in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call?
While 7-zip has no trouble unzipping the file, I cannot get Slade3 to read and open the AbandonedMisery_r1136.zip file.
Slade3 has no trouble with other zip files.

Re: {MAP04} Abandoned Misery
I am certain it is just due to the algorithm (method, as 7zip describes it) I am using to compact the data into archive. Besides using the standard 'Deflate', I am using Deflate64 (or sometimes PPmd). If you open the archive data file using either 7Zip or Windows ZIP (via Explorer), you can extract the .wad data file and then view the map with Slade.
Call me bias, but I don't see a real need to use Slade when using archive data files.

A new revision of the map is available at r1146; this build will require the new Texture Package resource [r1116].
Notes:

Re: {MAP04} Abandoned Misery
When using Texture Package resource [r1116] the game starts up and just sits there. None of the controls will work. So, I deleted ANIMDEFS and played it with just the textures.
The map looks really good with all that eyecandy.
I came across a texture problem with some of the teleporters:

Re: {MAP04} Abandoned Misery
That shouldn't happen... Can you reproduce this exact behavior with the latest official stable build of GZDoom?NeoHippo wrote:When using Texture Package resource [r1116] the game starts up and just sits there. None of the controls will work.

- Special Note: Wallcameras do not work in GZDoom 2.0.03 [1]
Those are special patches for the 'wall cameras'; when you expunged the Animation Definition script lump file, you also removed the wall cameras that were defined - and anything else that was defined.NeoHippo wrote:I came across a texture problem with some of the teleporters:

Re: {MAP04} Abandoned Misery
Just to let you know, my problems were caused by autoloading DrVenom8's brightmaps.
All is good now.

Do you have a link to this PWAD?NeoHippo wrote:Just to let you know, my problems were caused by autoloading DrVenom8's brightmaps.
I am rather in a very tough bind in what I can and can not touch for the sakes of compatibility of other mods; though I can not seem to find a good middle-ground that I am happy with, hence why the weapon placements have been removed from the recent revisions. Eventually I'll figure this out, or I'll just default....
