Any chance of Opengl/D3D9 implementation in future release?

Post by hoover1979 »

first of all I love your ECwolf port. I use it both on my Nvidia Shield Tablet and on my PC. However I was wondering is there a way to implement Opelgl or Direct 3d In a future release. I would love that for softened textures and antialiasing for an improved Wolf 3D experience. I know it isn't always easy to do such a thing, Can you let me know if it is possible for this to be done.

Thanking in advance.

Technically it is possible, but unless another developer comes on board to create and maintain it, it won't happen. To me keeping the classic look and feel is important, and to that end ECWolf will always have, default to, and be limited by the capabilities of the original 8-bit raycasting rendering process.

This would be cool thing in the future. GZDoom with HQ4X looks great for me.

In performance terms, it would be interesting, as long as it keeps the original blockiness.
