GZDoom 1.8.7 released

This is the final update for GZDoom 1.x, bringing it to the latest state of ZDoom.

This release is done for the sole reason that GZDoom 2.x requires OpenGL 3.0 support, so that users of older hardware (which should slowly disappear from the market) have one last chance to get the latest ZDoom features.

Future development will continue in v 2.x only.

Hello Mr Graf!

First of all: Many thanks for yoor work!

Is version 1.8.7 intended to run on WinXP? Actually it refuses to run on my old XP machine, which, however, worked fine with 1.8.6.

On Win 7 it looks all right... :D ... except for the musicchanger... but that's a ZDoom bug anyway. :D

Ah, damnit! That CMake project always unsets the compiler toolset and they still haven't managed to integrate this important option into their GUI.

Someone reported already somewhere that the hq scaler extremely degraded in quality.

It had an awesome quality with 1.8.2

Now I updated to this 1.8.7 version and the bad surprise came up - the hqx4 scaler is aliased and ugly :(

Why that happened? Can you change it back that it works like in 1.8.2 again? I loved the hqx4 scaler - it did an awesome job, but here - it is so damn ugly :( :(
So ugly that I downgraded back to 1.8.2 :/

If you can change it back to its original behaviour it would be very appreciated.

It's already fixed in 2.x.

This was caused by replacing the old windows exclusive inline assembly version with a C algorithm which appears to be broken somewhat.

They say life is cruel, the same goes for time. It goes too fast when you have fun, and goes too slow when things are boring or painful.
I appreciate your work, but this is where my pc's lifespan is coming to a close, as it is even being left behind by Doom...Well, at least I still have zandronum....right? (I give it a year or two)

Don't want the newest version. My laptop doesn't support OpenGL 3.0.

He said 'cannot run OpenGL 2'. Current 1.x versions do not work with anything lower.
