Extreme visual glitch on Fullscreen

Post by ChickenLegz »

I dunno why this happens, but it happens, both with mods and without.
On my laptop with fullscreen mode, textures, flats and hud objects screws up dramatically.

Since I can't make out anything useful on that postage stamp sized screenshot I can't even tell what it is. Can you attach a larger image?

What do you mean by "problem can be evaded"?

In non-fullscreen mode it works as it should,
but Windows border overlaps the bottom part.

Is the view stable or are parts flickering in and out?

They're flickering, and alter when player moves.

Hm. The exact same problem occurs on some older ATI drivers, there it was caused by a driver bug that broke hardware clip planes. Strange that it only happens in fullscreen.
Can you post the GZDoom startup log you get when starting with '+logfile log' on the command line?

Does this still happen?

I'm having the same issue.

The strange part is that my computer USED to be able to run it. The only thing that's changed is that I upgraded from 32 bit windows 7 to 64 bit.

I've kept all my data from before the upgrade, but my system settings were reset. Any idea on what could've changed?

Your drivers could've changed. Have you updated to your latest video drivers?

I installed all of the driver files via a Bootcamp zip file, as I run windows on a Mac partition.

Just to make sure, I checked in the device manager, and the display driver is working correctly. I came across some sort of visual driver or something that said it was broken, but the computer crashed and it no longer shows up.

I'm running a windows update just to make sure, but I don't think it'll fix it. I was thinking the issue might be that I'm missing one of those packages that you download such as Direct X (I know that comes with windows now, I'm just making a comparison) or something. Could this be the case?

What kind of video card do you have?

It doesn't matter if your drivers are "working properly" - glitched drivers will report that unless there is a glitch in the Windows subsystem part of it.

What matters is if your drivers are up to date - and if the up to date ones are glitched, then you need another version.

The Display Adapter? I have an AMD Radeon HD 6770M.

That's not the one that it said was broken, though. (though maybe it's at the root of the problem? idk) That one I can't even find on the list, anymore. The computer crashed right as I was typing what it was called, which was "visual" something, and I can't remember what it was, or what I did to get it to show up.

I wouldn't begin to know how to fix this beyond everything I've already done.

I FIXED IT!

I'm guessing that maybe I selected the wrong Bootcamp package or something, because after some googling, and looking at the AMD site, they have special drivers for Bootcamp configurations.

Thanks for the help! It would've taken me longer to figure out what to search for on my own.
