They arent fake. The ads are a target of much ridicule for this.

I always enjoy the advertisements for spam recipies I get when I look at my spam folder in Gmail. Even though I hate spam ;)

I like Spam if you fry it. Unless your talking about Ad Spam...eh, Spam is funny either way :) .
