ZTerrain dead... I hope not.
I was reading some old threads about ZTerrain, but they all stop sometime in 2006.
Actually after looking around a bit, there doesn't seem to be any up to date info on it at all, it's like it died or somethin.
Apparently ZTerrain 2.0 was in progress, but nothing so far.
I can't imagine it would be abandoned, cos it's like the best thing to happen to doom since well, ZDoom.
It's got so much potential.
It would be awsome to hear from someone that knows more about this. *caugh* *Grubber*

Grubber has been kinda off and on since he handed DRD Team over to me. He hasn't had much time for his projects, not like he used to anyway.

It's a good app, it would be nice to see an update for it, but I don't know if that might happen (at least not in the foreseeable future it seems).

What a shame.
I'm not exactly sure if he released the source code or not, but if he has, then that would give someone else an opertunity to continue the project.

From memory, Zterrain does not use the relatively new vertex height things. If it were to be updated, switching to those would make a lot of sense.

Re: ZTerrain dead... I hope not.
Exactly.
AFAIK, Boris was working on a plugin for DB2 that gave the mapper a possibility to generate terrains with vertex slopes.
I've not heard of this in a long time, though.

I think baghead worked on a from-scratch version recently, because the ZTerraoin source has been ....lost? Maybe.
I think a ZDoom forum thread might have a new Baghead version
EDIT: Here's spidey's: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=17277
I don't think there's been a release...?

Thanx for the info phi108.
So it's 'Mapper's Delight' now eh.
Please don't let this also be abandoned, [-o< by the look of things it was like almost complete.
Bagheadspidey: isn't that the same Baghead that's always on this forum?

Re: ZTerrain dead... I hope not.
Is it really have much potential with doom? Only when using low-res heightmaps may be. When I generated terrain from 129x129 heightmap my computer was like...
Ahaha oh wow!

Yes, as I recall, the map graphics needed to be pretty small.
