No, it isn't. It's Windows 2000. You fail.

It's 8bit too...
Well, the original isn't but I compressed it to 8bit. Still looks just as good imo.

In efforts to maximize the usability and productivity of my desktop, I tricked it out just a bit more.

Image

I removed CursorXP, Windowblinds, and WindowFX for performance reasons (and I got tired of adding SDL-based applications to Windowblinds' exceptions list). I decided to reduce the work that ObjectDock is doing by disabling its rightmost bar and bringing Windows XP's taskbar back (though the system tray and clock have now been disabled). The new desktop skin is courtesy of Windows XP itself, with a hacked DLL file that enables usage of third-party XPtheme files (notice the resemblance the top bar bears to Mac OS X - I tried a Mac-style bar program, but the ones I saw were either too advanced/processor intensive, buggy, or cost me money. So I made my taskbar to the work.

The dock on the left is still Stardock ObjectDock Plus, but the new dock on the right (which uses less CPU, and is more customizable) is RKLauncher. That one's free and is compatible with ObjectDock docklets (as evidenced by the Magic 8-ball and calendar docklets on the bottom of the right dock).

SysMetrix is still the CandyGlass1024 theme. My XPtheme is based on Mac OS X Tiger (with the Blue color scheme).

Heh, I'm not surprised you stopped using those. I was using them at one stage however the memmory usage was way too high for my liking and the themes usualy lost their novelty very quickly.

At the moment I'm going very minimalistic with my desktop. There are never icons on it and I have one QuickLaunch bar type thing going. I actualy replaced my shell entirely with BBLean (which is why there are never icon on the desktop). It has a lower memory usage than even the default XP skins and it doesn't look bad at all IMO. The other thing I like about it is I can change the style and wallpapers easily using predefined styles and it doesn't take a few minutes to change either. The only issue I have with it is it doesn't like 8bit programs that much (like ZDoom). The colour pallete gets corrupted. So you have to get 8bit apps to run in 16bit/32bit mode or windowed.

I'm used to the fall backs now, and am very happy with how I've got my desktop working.
