Toggle self-lighting sprites

Post by Salad Viking »

When a dynamic light is tied to a sprite in DECORATE or GLDEFS, that sprite is (unless it's a bright frame) lit up by the light tied to it, washing it in that color. The problem is that sometimes sprites are designed to look like they're lit up already, and when the light lights up the sprite it can mess up the appearance of it. This is especially apparent with sprites that have brightmaps associated with them, since the light frequently ruins the effect. Can I see the user option to enable or disable sprites lighting themselves and an associated MAPINFO option? Or, better yet, the ability to set this for specific actors in DECORATE and/or specific lights in GLDEFS. I wouldn't be surprised if this is not possible, but it sure would be helpful.

Add 'dontlightself 1' to the light definition.

Oh, thanks. Someone might want to add that one to the wiki.
