Basically whatever was in Daniel's fucking Armas mods is has automatically been overused with the release of the wads, come to think of it.

Replace 'some' with 'all', and that statement will be accurate. Edits don't fall under that rule, however.

Another one I'm sick of seeing are Cory's dual pistols from Don's Challenge. I see way too many variants of this one, it seems. All that, and I've only seen its auto pistol used exactly once (trauma_x.wad). That weapon is severely underused. ;)

That 3-D lookin' chaingun thats kinda yellow and is held at a \ kinda angle. (I realize that pretty much ALL new guns are from that angle now, but, yeah. That one.

Star Trek Doom weapons, and Star Wars doom weapons. Well, maybe the're not being used in dozens of weapon mods, but people tend to use them without any modifiactions in Star Trek / Star Wars mods, not to mention the fact they all come with absolutely outrageous sounds...

The CS1.6 rips were overdone with counter-doom, which basically ruined them for me.

I've been thinking about ripping weapons from CS: Source though, they would look much better and be something new. Should I go for it?

As long as they look nicer in Doom. And by "nicer" I mean fewer jagged edges, proper angling and decent size on screen (not like the Micro Glock in bf-cdoom).

I thought about ripping some Quake 4 weapons too, although I have to reinstall Q4 so it may be a bit if I were to get to that. Thats for another thread though.

yesterday i managed to rip the mag 60 from Turok: Rage Wars. so far, i ripped two frames. onde is from the game and the other i just modified it.
