I made an EASY LAUNCHER for zDOOM and gzDOOM. It's made in
GameMaker. < its not only for games so don't laugh, you can
make really amazing things with coding.
Well it's for lan gamers or hamachi gamers. I may include a timer
some time cause i left that out right now. Oh, and dup is automati-
cally set to 2. If you want to run the game faster you select the
settings and next time you want to start the game with same set-
tings you can also execute the 'run.bat' file, or edit it to add some
more parameter or change dup or whatever. The saddest thing for
you gus might be that i didn't actually make an option to change the
iWAD or pWAD so... only doom2.wad supported. I'm working on iWAD
changing but there won't be maps name and so on. Needless to say,
it's basically only made for me, because i only play DOOM2 on lan.

Re: GZDOOM Launcher
Wow! In the time this thing needed to start I would have been able to type the corresponding command line options twice...

Re: GZDOOM Launcher
There's a reason why Game Maker isn't used for applications like this. I would much like to put a launcher on my aging laptop, but the fact that this is made in Game Maker, and thus for no reason whatsoever needs me to have a DirectX 9.0 capable GPU, prevents me from using it. Also, Game Maker apps tend to use more memory than is needed and, as Graf stated above, take an exorbitant amount of time to launch.
Maybe someone with an extremely powerful computer (and system resources to burn) wouldn't mind the wait, but those of us running on a system made before last week will probably prefer something lightweight and speedy.

Re: GZDOOM Launcher
Why is it that people can't even arse themselves to learn some C++ and code a simple launcher using VC++ in general? It's not that hard, it just takes a bit of time/study. (Thus why i'm going for programming specialization next year in my college, MAYBE I will mess within gzdoom/zdoom src when i'll learn a lot more)

Re: GZDOOM Launcher
With ZDoom 2.4.1 or GZDoom 1.4.2+, the need for a launcher is decreased a lot. Slap a gameinfo.txt in the zip of the mod you want to play, and there you go, now you can just use right-click-send-to to play any mod and it's Windows Explorer (or whatever file manager you use) that's your launcher.
