News: I've improved the visual confirmation code so that the image is warped a little bit now. I hope this will help to prevent spambots too.

Um, shouldn't I be the moderator of my bugs forum?

by BioHazard » Sun Jul 30, 2006 8:36

Oh cool. Thanks.

I'll post a guidelines thread after I get some rest. Hopefully those who posted old bugs (that are still in the tracker mind you ;) ) can put them in there. (please wait until I finish the guideline thread though)

by grubber » Sun Jul 30, 2006 6:47

@BioHazard: Right, sorry.

by BioHazard » Sun Jul 30, 2006 0:55

/me is still waiting for a bugs forum... ;)

I'm first going to install some security related mods. I've asked randy of zdoom forum for some hints, since it seems that no spambots are registering there. Plus, I've deleted all users with 0 posts who registered more than a month ago.

Dude..

by wildweasel » Wed Jul 26, 2006 17:22

Two words: THANK. GOD.

I could kiss Grubber right about now, but for some reason I don't think it'd turn out that well.

by Paul » Wed Jul 26, 2006 15:12

Bump!

Grubber is working on a moderator control panel that will allow mods to delete spambots. A matter of time now.

by BioHazard » Tue Jul 11, 2006 6:05

Actually, Grubber, while you are at it, could you add a "Bug Reports" forum to my section? My bug tracker page thing isin't cutting it.

by wildweasel » Tue Jul 11, 2006 5:25

I'm bumping this thread because there's been a few more spammers and they're actually starting to post things. Grubber, is it possible that you could find some phpbb plugin that could thwart these spammers? Recently we've had a couple that have posted "cheap meds" and another advertising porn.

As much as I wish I could do something myself, the only thing that's in my power is just deleting posts, and that does not take care of the issue.

I don't noticed that there are spambots but "asajsjajdhe" or something like that smells for me! smells like SPAMBOT, i hate spambots

by wildweasel » Wed Jun 21, 2006 8:52

Taking a closer look at the memberlist, it seems that whoever it is is registering a new account every day, and has been doing this since a week ago. And only now has he actually tried to post something.

by grubber » Wed Jun 21, 2006 8:51

Yeah, I noticed it. I delete them from time to time. I wonder how they can register when there's visual confirmation :?.

by Enjay » Wed Jun 21, 2006 8:40

If it stops, or reduces, spambots then yes. I'd noticed them too.
