The project has suffered a few calamities since it has started, including the departure of one of its key developers, Tormenter667. Since then, and since DRD Team unfortunately lost its VPS, it has been in perpetual development hell. I think real life catching up to people has also been a key issue in that project, since Doom is a hobby and not a job.
