Thanks for filling in the blanks. I remembered that the amount of stuff being uploaded quickly ballooned to huge volumes and that, now you mention it, there was a process for verifying and trying to moderate content for legality etc that quickly became unsustainable.

It was a really generous idea and a good service while it lasted, but the use of it very quickly outstripped what was possible to cater for.

Unfortunately the whole thing had to be scrapped because it quickly spiraled out of control for the amount of content that needed to be moderated, the liability, and the sheer volume of data that had to be transferred in the inevitable situations where DRD Team had to migrate hosts.

Am I right in saying that's the old file hosting system that used to be offered on DRD?
If so, that became unsustainable for reasons I can't fully remember and it was discontinued a very long time ago (2010-ish, maybe). I think all the files went too.

If it's something else, I don't know but Rachael almost certainly will.

I'm spelunking through the depths of ZDoom and seeing a lot of nice stuff hosted at files.drdteam.org. However, attempting to download any of them provokes the error

Code: Select all

421. Misdirected Request.
The client needs a new connection for this request as the requested host name does
not match the Server Name Indication (SNI) in use for this connection.
Have the files been lost for good, or is this a consequence of the move to https for everything?

Please can the admins have a look at this?
