yes, is very easy!!
choose the ultimate level of doom3 ( before the cyberdemon fight)
that place have any light and you can take any screenhsots ( no hud and no decals) with a 640 x 480 and later edit with paint ( reduce to 50%) and later edit with photoshop, later add the sprite in the wad and later change the playpal!! and later ajust the decorate code !!

hehheh I did my sprites in the same way ^^doomero wrote:yes, is very easy!!
but your sprites are in high res? I tryed to adjust my sprites to fit on a 320 x 200 screen, but it doesn't look so good... so, I defined my sprites on the hirestex lump to fix this problem, but it was much hard to align the images on the screen, since I can't see them on xwe, and because of it, I've used 640 x 480 to 'autofit' the images, but the wad became so much big ( two wepons have ocupped more than 4 mbs ¬¬') how can I fix that?
and... forget about my bad english xD

well, GZDoom supports all colors, and since D3onGZD i'ts a exclusive GZDoom wad, I don't have problems with that.. what I mean is: when I tryed to reduce the resolution of my images, the wepons looked like crap xDdoomero wrote:you need a special playpal: i use the zendinamick playpal, is the best play pal for doom3 sprites =)
hehehhh South America rules!!! I'm brazilliandoomero wrote:and dont worry my english is to bad too XD; i am chilean!!

well :
play doom3 : the last level ( the ascensor, before the cyberdemon fight)
you must play doom3 with:
no full screen
show decals: no
show hud: no
play with 640 x480 ( resolution)
after, start to make screenshots ( with screesnhot button from doom 3)
after of that, edit the screenshot with photoshop, save the file in bmp, and later open the file with paint, later, reduce the screenshot to 50% (320 x 240)
later ..
Begins to polish the screenshot and leaves only the weapon
later...if your screenshot have darkness, edit with photoshop and increase the brightness
later start to add the sprites to the wad

I heard elsewhere that you can turn off the world textures in Doom 3 by using the console. Can't remember what the command was, I think it might have been cg_drawflat or something of the sort (hint: try hitting Tab in the console). This leaves the gun textures and most of the lighting in place, so all you need to do is face a flat wall/surface and start taking screenshots of the gun. Then it's pretty much a snap to load it into Photoshop or whatever and use the magic wand (or better, mask layers) to get rid of the background.
