DMXGUS

So, since I had been working on this, I noticed Hacx 1.2 does not have its own DMXGUS lump.

It might be an idea for the 1.3 update.

Huh, that's interesting. I never owned a GUS, though, so I'm not sure exactly what it sounds like on said hardware. Except good, probably. :P

The big question is where to get a DMXGUS lump, though I'm wondering whether it's possible to "legally" fudge it with the "Hacx was an official Doom Engine license" excuse and copy it from doom2.wad. Terrible, eh? :P

Well, the usual way to get a DMXGUS lump is just to grab an ultramid.ini off a standard installation and then tweak accordingly to prioritize the instruments used in the songs. To know which these are, you can look at this for a real-time display.

Fraggle has mentioned maybe making a mus/midi analysis script. That'd be helpful.
