I heard something about it. I usually use the mouse wheel as a means of selecting weapons. i.e. MWHEELUP = WeapNext and MWHEELDOWN = WeapPrev.

The way the input code is written can't see anything beyond the three mouse buttons. It just hasn't been a particularly high priority to redo it.
