Official DRD TEAM Logo Contest Thread

Post by Paul »

An idea has been tossed to allow the forum visitors design a new logo for the DRD Domain, as the current is just a sign. I think it's a good idea, letting others express their creative deeds :)

Rules:
  • The logo must be your own work (no copyrighted material-how obvious)
  • We're designing the logo for the main page, which will be rescaled later to be used for the forums.
  • Multiple entries (wips) are allowed to be posted, but the author can enter only 1 entry to the final voting.
  • Technical: a 32 bit png, height: max 80 pixels. Width: max 512 pixels
  • Black background, or an alpha channeled png
  • The logo can be animated
Prize:
well, there's none :P it's a contest for fun

Judging:
Competition closes on 14th July 2006 (a week and a day from today), and a poll will be put up for people to vote for the entries, for 4 next days (till 18th July).
The winner will be announced on 18th July and the logo on the main page and forums updated.

Note to DRD Team-feel free to particapate, however, me (Paul) am not taking a part in the competition, aside fro organising.

Declaring the contest opened starting now. Have fun!

Post your entries in this very thread and let's keep the competn fun and civilised.

Took me 10 Minutes, just a small preview of what I have in mind:

Note: Not the finished banner (look at rules!)

I figured doing something would be a quick process, but alas, not with my failing mouse and the fact that I hadn't even so much as opened Illustrator in ages

Anyway, a WIP, though it'll probably be the final, unless someone suggests something :P

Also, Torm, what font did you use for "Team"?

A few enhancements made, still "developement size" so the admins of DRDTeam.org can change it how they want it to be in the end

A bit too high Torm. The max height is 80 pixels.

I thought I will start off with "highresolution" previews so you can use the finished logo also on other places, larger or smaller, just resize and crop it as you want it to be in the end. Making it smaller is always not a big deal:

My vote goes for Shinjanji's, because it's much simpler. Though personally, I think I'm going to try and make one of my own.
