Yeah... don't do things especially to get yourself in a team. Just do your job, and if you're good, people will just like to work with you, and will notice your skills. That's all to it.

Hey Deathsong your right about the mini-communities that make up the main DooM Community. The only one that I feel that will last longer and feel safer will be the DRD Team site\forums. I gave up on the Skull Tag Community because too many noobs were ruining it bad with their bullshit antics in the forums and in the servers. Also DooM World is starting to suck.

Starting  ? Well, wouldya look at that...

And thanks for stating that we may live long and avoid a noob invasion (you did mean that, right?). I think (and dearly hope) that you are right. If not me - as I have lost interest in classic Doom a few months ago, and it still haven't returned - you have four other champs to lead the way in Doom (and soon not only) related stuff.

One thing is sure. WE DON'T LIKE CRAP. And we will never act like we do.
We have respect for other people, but don't tolerate when someone gets simply rude. I think you just need to be consequent, and tolerant, to get your little community working and doing fine.

If you guys hang with us, we hang with you. As simple as it is.

If the newbs can LEARN to behave right and properly unlike the ones at the Skull Tag forums\servers then everyone will get along real well here at DRD. It seems LEARNING is not required to be part of the Skull Tag forums\servers.

This place will be fine untill we hit 1000 members or so, then the n00b/sane ratio will explode and the same thing that happens to any huge community will happen.
Sure that might take a while. It took zd.org 3 years and I believe it will take this one 2-2.5.
Sorry to sound pessimistic but I have been to a ton of forums in my day and this is the norm.

I'll only say here that we (DRD) are quite toleratant people.
We got nothing against some funny stuff or "joeks", even threads derailing.

However: flaming (be it regulars vs n00bs or regulars vs regulars) with words AND pictures, acting too sarcasting/like an ass, posting things that are either stupid or too vile (like pictures of dead animals) is NOT tolerated here.

I won't allow turning DRD into an outpost of retardness that zdoom.org recently changed to (no offense Bio and Randy, and the cool zdoom.org regulars-You know who You are)
And I visit these forums daily so security is high. :)

You have to show some force. Otherwise the forum will degrade further.

Show those noobs that you mean business; that you're not afraid to pull the trigger on them. Otherwise they'll look at you like you're threatening them with a toy dartgun.

I'm serious. If I banned everyone I wanted gone, 90% of all posting would stop.

Do it one at a time then - take one individual and slap a temporary one-week ban on them. See what happens.

That sounds like Me, jalla, Deathsong, KoF and perhaps DoomRater then. I'd say we contribute to about 50% of the posting alone ATM.

Better a slow forum than a chaotic one, I say.
