Stretch short skies does not work at all.

Advanced OpenGL source port fork from ZDoom, picking up where ZDoomGL left off.

Stretch short skies does not work at all.

Post by Leonard »

What else to say ?
Since zandronum 2.0 is in alpha testing I noticed that the skies were incredibly short (and looked kind of ugly) compared to the old zandronum and that's when I noticed.
Zandronum 2.0 have updated its codebase to ZDoom 2.5.0/GZDoom 1.5.0 so perhaps it got broken here ?
ZDoom works correctly.
Yes I did test on GZDoom 1.8.2 before making this thread.

It was never removed. It just never was there in the first place.

Weird.. In zandronum 1.2 there is sky stretching on open gl and it looks great.
And the skies were stretched in the old GZDoom
Here's an exemple from GZDoom 1.1.1

http://sourceforge.net/projects/zdoom/f ... p/download (if you want to try for yourself)

Now it looks ridicoulusly small. Should I make a feature suggestion ? (before you say no ? :p)

Won't happen. Sky stretching is merely a crutch to hide the missing parts in the software renderer.
Older GZDooms handled sky positioning wrong, that's why it got changed. There was never a genuine sky stretching option.
