Today I switched from version 1.8.10 to Dec 08 release from here. I used the newest release and not the stable version because the latter doesn't have the bugfix I needed. I also upgraded my graphic drivers.
I transferred settings file and saves to this version, and first thing I noticed was that now the game starts lagging at seemingly random intervals (probably about every 10-20 seconds), coming back alive in a second or so. This happens even if there is no action going on, just as I walk around (albeit less frequently than when there's heavy fighting around). Such thing didn't happen with version 1.8.
All settings are the same as they were, I didn't change anything. I play with a mod, Complex Doom, if that matters.
What may be the reason for that, and how do I deal with it? Or if there is no way to fight it, what settings may help improve the situation?
P.S. Another thing that happened after transition was that the mod's custom weapons didn't show their sprites, except for a select few animations. This fixed itself after several launches. Any explanation why that happened? Just for curiosity's sake.

1159 is very laggy. So it is still not fixed?
Even a music WAD with FLAC Files is lagging while playing the game.
1.8 runs perfectly fine. 2.0.05 I dont know.
I first thought that the new fmod version is bad, but I realized now its the whole game. I used this time only midi, but instead of project brutality I played with pfenh mod and it lags exactly the same, while 1.8.2 doesnt do (just very seldom when I create a big effect massacre) but thats it.
If you ask for my computer specs too, here:

If it's laggy on that system you have some deeper problem.
I got a far weaker graphics card and 2.x handily outpaces 1.8.

While your graphics card is spec'ed as OpenGL 3.2 compliant, Graf Zahl has mentioned in the past that AMD drivers are not necessarily up to the task of running GZDoom flawlessly.tarrasqueSorcerer wrote:2.7 GHz CPU, 2 Gb RAM, Windows XP SP3, ATI Radeon HD 4600.

Have you tried 1429?De-M-oN wrote:1159 is very laggy. So it is still not fixed?
The only unknown on my part would be how GZDoom fares with a RAID0 system.De-M-oN wrote:If you ask for my computer specs too, here:
As Graf Zahl already mentioned, there could be an underlying problem with your system.

Thats like a single HDD for any application. The only unknown on my part would be how GZDoom fares with a RAID0 system.
Beside on that the RAID 0 drives are only for Videocapture, the games are on the 3TB Drive which is non-RAID.
I'll do later.Have you tried 1429?
