GZDoom 1.4.1 released

Post by Graf Zahl »

Version 1.4.1 is online. This is only a bugfix release that addresses several issues that have been found in 1.4.0. Here's the list of important fixes:

- models did not display correctly
- some moving cameras no longer worked.
- some menu layout fixes
- Strife dialogue layout fixes
- improved precision for Floor_Waggle
- improved performance with sprites that contain a lot of empty room on the outside.

Just a note to everyone:

I'll be on a business trip for the next 2.5 weeks so it's very unlikely that I'll be able to do any work on ZDoom or GZDoom in this time and I wanted to get a version with the model bug fixed out before I leave tomorrow morning.

Once Randy releases ZDoom 2.4.1 I'll do an update as soon as possible but I don't believe it'll be before 23. Jan.

Small update:

I was able to fix some stuff today but I'm still not at home and can't compile a release containing the most recent bugfixes. I'll do a new version next weekend.

Thanks for fixing the various problems, especially as you are away ATM.

For those that want to try the fixes before an official release, I'm uploading a GZdoom build (r718) and a Zdoom build (r2114) to the SVN server right now. They should be available in a few minutes.

Enjay, r718 does not fix the black square in translucent sprites problem. I am still seeing those darn black boxes...

Strange, it fixes it for me.

With previous versions (as per the bug report thread) these explosions were all paletised and surrounded by black boxes but this is with 718:

I get this with r718. Tried with my regular INI and a freshly generated INI.

fixed that one. These sprites are bad so they passed a few sanity checks.
