I don't use the desktop much, I tend to dump everything into QuickLaunch or the start menu somewhere. Hell I rarely ever actually see my wallpaper, some fullscreen window is in the way. :P
Haha, be ye a Rush fan? :D
Hell yes. :P

I love the simple-and-clean approach :)

The main image is this one from the NASA Mars Exploration Rovers image gallery trimmed to fit. It is just AWESOME that we can send robots half a billion miles across space and take photos of the horizon on the surface of another planet -- there was even one of Earth as seen in the night sky and another of sunset on Mars! Ultra cool !

It's Lunix. =(

It looks nice but it's not worth putting up with driver problems and stuff like our friend J-Dub is having. He can't even do something as simple as run ZDoom. =(

It's OpenGL accelerated composite window manager for X (more info on http://www.beryl-project.org).

BTW There is a plenty of videos showing it in action on YouTube.

@Nash: You pay by money for Windows and you pay by knowledge for Linux. I prefer paying by knowledge, because unlike money it remains ;) And I've never got problems running zdoom or beryl.

Well time is money and I definitely do not have time to acquire the same amount of Linux knowledge that you already have.

Maybe one day when I'm old and crap and I'm jobless, I'll decide to pick up Linux... :P

Nope. It can run on top of any desktop environment (GNOME in my case).
