The only thing I've heard lately about Doom Wad Station is that Jive is putting stuff up on there. That doesn't exactly encourage me to learn more.

I thought Jive found religion and abandoned forever Doom and its wicked, sinful ways, burning all the Doom website he had ever maintained?

Re: Would anyone happen to know...
that still sucks tho... i mean its not like doom is a "sin" of any sort, right? even sandy peterson (if you dont know who sandy peterson is google it!) who was a morman found doom acceptable (Mormans absolutely do no like anything demonic, but peterson found doom looked past dooms concept because it wasnt promoting satanism and the demons were the "bad guys").

Re: Would anyone happen to know...
I am a declared Catholic (not a good one though) and I always oppose violence and disrespect and find absolutely nothing in games such as Doom, Silent Hill or even Postal disturbing. They are all GAMES. If one can find the difference between games and reality then he is successful.
Man, this subject has so much controversy talking on how games influence kids to do nasty stuff and how they are satanic and evil is like opening a can of bees (not beans), so I'll just say - Doom is only a game.
On the other hand, orthodoxic approaches to religion can spawn paranoia to such an extent the behaviour of a highly-orthodoxic (paranoid) religious man, or woman, has nothing to do with the values represtented by the religion. Example? Have you ever read or watched Stephen King's "Carrie"? Remember how her mother used to punish her for going against rules of God?

I am also a catholic and see no problem in videogames (violent and everything else)as long as one can tell the difference between reality and unreality, then its alrite. Those who cant distinguish the two dont deserve to experience such pleasures as doom. But this doesnt apply only to video games, it can apply to ANYTHING! Food, television, movies are all subject to dunces who overuse and abuse them.Paul wrote: a very good point
