I first begin with the Official Desktop Parade Rules:
Keep your image sizes to a reasonable level. Upload your screens to ImageShack and add the thumbnails to your post.
If you need a free image program to save your image, use IrfanView.
Minimize your windows and press PrintScreen, then in IrfanView, press Paste to work with the screenshot.
Without further ado...here is the results of my latest desktop refurbishment, courtesy of Stardock Object Desktop:
Of particular note:
I removed the Windows taskbar.
The tabs at the top (including System Tray) are part of ObjectDock.
The dock at the right acts similar to the one in Mac OS X - which is also part of Object Dock, and replaces the taskbar buttons and QuickLaunch toolbar in functionality.
The bar at the bottom (though it's long since moved to the top, and the tabs at the bottom) is SysMetrix, in CandyGlass1024. This functionally replaces the system clock, but also gives me the added benefit of a system resource monitor and a Winamp remote control, among others.
My icon set is LaST Cobalt, for Stardock IconPackager.
As of the screenshot, I was running the iSkin theme for WindowBlinds 4 - I have since renovated to the DogmaX theme.
I'm wondering more how one can work with something like that. It hurts my eyes if they constantly have to process such an amount of information. I keep my desktop simple.

If you hate that... Then you'd hate to use my computer... I usually have 2x as many icons as i have on there currently, but right now i cleaned it up a little.
