Option to disable translucent floors

Post by jengelh »

It would be nice to have an option that disables rendering of translucent or reflective floors/ceilings and instead draws them opaque. Such floors (not walls) seem to be one major slowdown for older cards.

edit: "gl_portals 0" seems to be the command that I wanted, though, it leaves visual artifacts in at least one wad.

Reflective floors can be switched off.

Set gl_plane_reflection to 0.

Translucent floors don't kill performance. Any graphics card that's 12 years old can handle that.
