I'm putting the map on hold; no one plays R3D maps anymore.
Doomsday Rocked is a good map, but no one plays it.
I think there's no interest in R3D maps anymore.
Now putting a lot of energy and time into this map, AI_base, is a waste of time.
Abbs also has lost interest in creating the gameplay.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. For some reason I literally had the thought "I wonder how Sitters' AI base map is coming along" as I went to bed last night. It was definitely one I was looking forward to, and the assets looked amazing.

It's your decision, of course, and I respect that.

For what it's worth, I played Doomsday Rocket last week. I also still play Genetic Disaster (plus other maps you have been involved with). For whatever reason, GenD has always hit a sweet spot for me.

Hi Enjay,
Yes, it's a shame.

But Graham has stopped development.
Abbs has stopped for gameplay and finishing maps.
I'm a mapper and bad at gameplay.
A nice map without good gameplay is bad.
So, not much choice.

Edit:

I'm thinking about making classic Doom maps, with the original monsters and a beautiful environment, using minimal scripting.
Instead of a complete remake, the gameplay would be much easier.

Yep, Graham stopping development on Risen3D, Abbs stepping back are both a shame too. Again, it's totally their decision (Graham has talked about stopping work on Risen3D for several years now). However, it's just the natural progression of things. I hope everyone finds something to do that suits them and keeps them happy.

You posting prompted me to go back and have another play through of Doomsday Rocket last night. Good fun - it's a nice original scenario, quite an involved story, obviously has some quite complex scripting and it has lots of cool scenery and bad guys to fight (and I love both of the robot designs in the map).
