Radeon 9600XT here, and I can confirm having the same fog problem on LTSD E4M3. didn't notice it while playing Doom 2 levels though, or the couple other wads i played the other day (they didn't have fog)

Yep, I also get that problem. Radeon X700 for me. Here's some screenshots:

Edit: Oddly enough, switching from OpenGL to Software rendering, and back to OpenGL seems to make the depth fog appear like normal. Odd.

Edit 2: Well, that is, of course, until the dynamic lights come into play again... Which seems to screw with the depthfog quite a lot... Also, walking from a dark sector into a lighter sector seems to mess with the depthfog as well, but that may be on purpose, I don't know.

I created a test version.

Anybody who has problems with this should download

http://grafzahl.drdteam.org/gzdoom/atifogtest.zip

and tell me whether it helps or not.

having same problem with the depth fog, it seems to be "fighting" with the real fog on the level

I'm using catalyst version 5.8 (latest) on a Radeon X800XT

also using the build you provided here.

@Graf, could you post a picture on your nvidia of how the level should look?

I ran around in e4m3 for a while going to spots that caused me trouble before and it worked. I opened doors and looked into fogless sectors from inside a foggy sector and went into buildings and looked outside into the fog. it all seemed to be working correctly.

lights on regular fogless maps however are still blinking, I don't know if this is because you haven't implemented the fix into the lighting code yet or some other reason

Maybe it's time to dump OpenGL, and switch to Direct3D instead... ;)

hey, lets not start a OpenGL vs Direct3D or ATI vs nVidia Flame war , as it looks like Graf is on the way to fixing it :D

All I did was change the fog hint from GL_NICEST to GL_FASTEST. ATi must be insane to default to an unstable mode.

About the blinking, is there any chance that you could make a small movie with a screen capture tool? Maybe I get some ideas when I see the effect in action. Screenshots don't help much.

No chance in hell I am going to bother with that mess of an API.

http://rapidshare.de/files/4587775/lights.zip.html

if you have something against rapidshare I can also send it to your email upon request.

also the blinking lights in this version are different than in the reg 0.9.2 version, if you wanted I could also provide a video for 0.9.2 for comparison if need be.

It seems I left some testing code in the last version. Please try this and tell me whether it is working now
