More Sprite Facing Options?

Post by Snarboo »

Something was brought up in a bug report that reminded me of this, but would it be possible to implement more sprite facing options? What I mean is, if you were to look up or down, the sprites would still be facing you rather than becoming wafer thin or thinner. I think Doomsday has an option like this, and I noticed Edge has a limit to how far the sprites are skewed or become thin as you look up and down. I just hate it when you look up or down at an enemy only to have them become cardboard cutouts. Naturally, there would need to be different levels of sprite facing, because it would look just as strange if the sprites were always facing you. I hope I described this right.

As soon as I figure out Doomsday's algorithm I'll implement it. It's just that Doomsday's code is written in a way which I have sometimes problems to understand.

Yeah, I understand. This isn't really a high priority, so no biggie. :)

This has been requested and argued about time and again.

Don'tcha just start to get real sick of hearing it Graf? ;P

Good to hear about your plans to implement it. In OpenGL mode, the 2-d sprites badly need the said feature.
