[not a bug] Friendly monsters

I saw two issues with friendly monsters. I think these issues aren't bugs, but they are bad things. First issue - In cooperative bots attack friendly monsters. Second issue - When friendly Pain elemental explodes, then dangerous, not friendly Lost Souls appear.

The second one is a bug but the first one is because the bots are buggered.

The second one is intentional. When the player kills a friendly PE the Lost Souls are not friendly. As for the first one, I don't care about the bots and will ignore all bug reports concerning them. They are beyond repair.

I think I remember the second one being the subject of quite some debate over at the Zdoom forum and the described behaviour is indeed intended and (IIRC) the agreed consensus of what should happen.

If an unfriendly monster kills a friendly pain elemental, would the lost souls still be friendly?

Yes. That situation is different. For the player it has been changed because
1) The Lost Souls targeted the player anyway and
2) The player should receive no benefit from killing a friend

And I also think that when you kill a friendly pain elemental, you're betraying your friendship, so the pain elemental has no choice but to be aggressive back by making his descendants hate you.
