Brightness weirdness

When GZdoom starts (OpenGL only), Windows gets brighter, and when you close GZdoom it goes back to normal, but if it crashes, the brightness stays. Is there a way to reverse this besides messing with my monitor or restarting?

I think this is something that cannot be avoided. IIRC, it's something like OpenGL cannot be engaged for one program only, so your GZdoom settings get applied across the board. If GZdoom exits unexpectedly, those values may be left on normal windows. (I'm sure someone else can explain it better/more accurately.) It doesn't just happen with GZDoom. I've had it with other OpenGL games too.

Used to happen to my graphics card too. If just open Gzdoom again it should reset it to normal after.

It happens with me, too. Worst game is Doom 3, since it hardly ever resets. Luckily, if you save a profile setting for your brightness, you can just set that back to normal.

This happens to me when I exit World of Warcraft... The screen becomes darker so I can't see the squares in Doom Builder at all, and I have to reset the gamma settings on the desktop.
