I think TDA means that the barrels are actually flying in a stance pose, and they just disappear in normal fire mode. Maybe a sprite edit to make them fly horizontally, not in the stopped pose? I actually thought something like this:
-----
..I... THIS IS HOW YOURS FLY (VERTICALLY IN STANCE POSE).
..I...
-----
I-------I THIS IS HOW THEY COULD FLY TO MAKE IT LOOK MORE REALISTIC.
I.........I (HORIZONTALLY, LIKE A ROCKET).

Damn this needs to be revived.
Oh well, here is a quick submission based on something that was submitted in the WRW (I forgot the author of the original weapon and have no idea whose sprites these are):
http://rapidshare.com/files/60111531/ARrifle.zip.html (bad)
Oh and Sniper Joe, this is a slightly different version from the one you had.
Edit: Oh... stupid reload bug gives you a bullet when you try to reload even if you don't have enough ammo. I'll resubmit in a sec.
Fixed version: http://rapidshare.com/files/60115156/ARrifle.zip.html

Okay, so submitting someone else's frames, no matter how greatly modified, is not my own. Moving along, here is a rework of one of my other submissions- the One Gauge Shotgun. This is the personal model and I'll get to submitting the GI model later once it's done, but for now enjoy this overpowered, overly complicated piece of equipment. Trigger.wad included, 350 page manual sold separately.

Normal Operation:
Fire: Shoots the gun.
AltFire: builds up the Street Sweeper.
Reload: stuffs a shell in. Hold to fill the magazine or to see the magazine if it's already full... but why would you wanna do that?
While holding down WeaponSpec1:
Fire: Cycles forward through the choke settings.
AltFire: Cycles backward through the choke settings.
Reload: Cycles the stagger for the Street Sweeper from short to long. Four settings.
More spread modes to come, including the infamous "cross" spread.
