High quality texture resize mode like in zdoomgl

Zdoomgl has a high quality texture resize mode which vastly improves the way sprites and textures fade as you get closer to them. Would it be possible to include this in the next release of Gzdoom?

You can already do that with a HIRESTEX lump.

EDIT: Wait, are you talking about an hq2x filter? If so, I believe Graf has said before that he has no intentions of putting one in. (I could be wrong on this, though.)

I don't consider hq2x an improvement. Besides, the code is GPL so I can't use it anyway.
