Doom Restuffed

Hey, Lioyd here.

I'm working on a mod based on Doom's original monsters/weapons, but which is supposed to "enhance" the game by adding ZDoom's extra features(smoke, casings, reload, etc.) There is a beta on the ZDoom forums. Keep in mind that IT IS A BETA AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CURRENT PROGRESS. No link...call me lazy :p

So here's the progress.


Pistol - still needs a few improvements
Chainsaw - Done
Rifle - Done
Machinegun - still needs a few improvements
Chaingun - Done
Shotgun - Done
SSG - still needs a few improvements
Rocket Launcher - DONE !!! USE IT !!!
Plasma Gun - still needs a few improvements
BFG - Done
Unmaker - In progress

Yeah, I know, it's a bit too late. :p. There is also a monster replacement so the weapons aren't too overpowered.
-The SG guy is more powerful. The zombieman has got a rifle.
-The shotgunners randomly replaces the zombies, and [latin]vice versa[/latin].
-The chaingunner randomly replaces the Pinkies (for Doom 1)
-There are some occasional Marines to help you. (Or to get killed right in front of you. :p)
-jDoom-style rocket trails ! OMG 3y3 RULE !!! Kidding. But I could bet $1.000.000 you'll react like this when you see it. :p

What i plan...

-An SSG guy to randomly replace the chaingunners. Asked Eriance for the reloading sprites.
-Err...nothing else

Dear Lioyd (that IS an "i", isn't it?),

The mod sounds good! I'm not one who minds several different versions of something (like upgrades for vanilla Doom) if they are done well, and it SOUNDS like you already know where you're headed and how to get there. I'll definitely look forward to seeing your work!

Thank you for your support ! I'm now working on the Unmaker and its ammo. Then I'll do the SSG guy.

And, YES, it IS an "i".

2008.13.04.

-The Unmaker is done.
-This mod now has a name ! Behold...Doom Restuffed !
-New ideas.
-The SSG and machinegun are done.
-Started working on the SSG guy. Will have a more "gory" death.
-New weapons : MP40 and Luger. Only for D2's MAP31-32.
-New enemies : Pistol Nazi, MP40 Nazi, and improved the SSs (also dropping an MP40). Only for D2's MAP31-32.

What I plan :
-An explosion of blood and guts when a cybie dies.
-Implementation of Nash's gore effects.
-Machinegun zombies.

YES! I was so disappointed with the original Cyberdemon's death sequences, just a couple of explosions and nothing but smoking hooves... The Doom 64 Cybie death was an improvement, as you could see the flesh and skeleton vaporizing before the final explosion.

-The Luger is almost done.
-Gore effects in progress.
-FAQ in progress.
-The SSG guy is in "standby" mode for now. I forgot to specify that I'm
"zombifying" the SSG soldier from ww-stranger. But I think I'll abort it
and use the Skulltag ones.

What I plan :

-Ripping and editing Marty's sprites for the Luger's reloading animation.
-Ask Scuba Steve for some extra sprites.

2008.4.19.

-A few stuff taken from Kinsie's Doom Enhanced.
-It's official, I'll take the SSG guy sprites from Skulltag(and improve them a bit).

-Improved MG sprites.
-Bugfixes.
-New select/deselect animations for the Unmaker, plasma gun and BFG.
-Gore effects done.
-Cybie and spiderdemon death done.
-Working on a trick to make the weapons visible on the player.
-Will start working on the MG guy right after that post. It'll be easy.

Planned:

-Nothing yet.

-I won't have any access to my computer for two entire weeks. Thus, I won't be able to work on Restuffed for now. Hopefully, I'll have a permanent access to the Internet while i'm gone. You'll have to wait. Really sorry.
