Introducing the DRD Team File Sharing Beta!
Have you ever gotten tired of those stupid free hosts that always delete your files, enforce ridiculous captchas (especially when doing multiple files!), and make you wait a minute just to download a single file?
Well, to that we say, Rapidshare, Mediafire, Megaupload, zShare - it doesn't matter who you are, you can all go to Hell! (That being the third episode of Doom, really!)
DRD Team is launching its own file sharing service for the Doom community without most of these major annoyances. Right now it is in the beta testing stage, but we believe it will offer a viable alternative to all the crap we've seen.
Please follow basic rules, and agree to the terms and conditions listed. Failure to do so will result in your account being banned without warning. Because of the legal implications, we will be enforcing a NO WARNING AND NO TOLERANCE RULE, so don't screw up! Also, if there turns out to be a lot of issues with enforcing copyright interests, the site will be removed.
Without further ado, here is the link to the site: http://files.drdteam.org/
If you need larger limits on files, please contact an admin. The needs will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

I can't enter a code. It's always invalid.

It worked fine for me, maybe it was a temporary problem?

Just made an account. Kinda tricky because I had no idea what the password was until I got it emailed to me later.
Is there a possibility of being able to set our own in the future?
Great work by the way :D

Hmmm, yes, there should be the ability to set your own password.
I am not sure how passwords are handled internally with this script though. I know you can change it after you log in, though. Try this: http://files.drdteam.org/index.php?cmd=pass

Okay, obviously this script needs some tweaking. But that will have to come at a later date.

Re: Introducing the DRD Team File Sharing Beta!
Just got around to trying this and it worked without any problems. It seemed nice and smoth. registration and uploading was easy and the download link seems to work just fine too.
A couple of suggestions:
Can pk3 be added to the file extension list? By way of a test, I tried to upload one and, not too surprisingly, it wasn't excepted (you'll be getting a report about it no doubt).
Is there any way that the software can let you know about the download links for posting on a forum without having to have it sent to your e-mail? I wasn't really sure which to go for so I picked "Personal" rather than "Other" for the file if it makes any difference.

If it wasn't excepted, then it was accepted, wasn't it?Enjay wrote:Can pk3 be added to the file extension list? By way of a test, I tried to upload one and, not too surprisingly, it wasn't excepted (you'll be getting a report about it no doubt).

Right now, I've found this script simply doesn't work. It will be replaced, but after the move.
And if it stores user accounts how I think it is, it will be very easy to transfer accounts... (bleh)
I've come to the conclusion that the one there now is a piece of garbage.
