I was playing "Demons of Problematique 2" when I got the effect in the screenshot. I was mid game and so only grabbed the screenshot with the intention of going back and recreating the situation. However, so far I have not been able to do it. I don't actually think that the WAD is required to recreate this but I can't be certain. The WAD, erm PK3, does have some sprites in it but not these ones. I saw the effect with Mancubus fireballs (screenshot) imp fireballs and revenant fireballs. I did not notice it on any other sprites.

I realise this is a bit vague. I'll try and find some more info though.

OK, this does seem repeatable and I think that the map is required - for some reason. :dunno:

The map in question is map02. I picked up the invulnerability sphere in the secret at approximately 4199, -846. Coming out of the secret area, get yourself into a firefight and fireballs should show the effect, but only in some areas. I don't know, but I'm guessing that there might be a fog effect or something in some of the sectors.

From one angle - caco fireball showing the problem.

Turn around and go up the steps and the problem has gone.

Any other information needed?

I noticed this advice in the other thread:

"If you update to 190.62 or the latest beta the problem should go away."

For info, that's the driver I am using.

[edit] Ooops, forget that. My driver is reporting itself as 190.38. I'll get 190.62 and report back. [/edit]

I meant NeoHippo. His driver reported some shader compile errors which can screw things up badly.

Yes, I thought as much but I also thought that my driver was up to date so there was no harm in me updating and checking.

I now have 190.62 and the problem still exists.

Not too surprisingly the IR goggles also show the problem but it's a little easier to see because the whole screen isn't white. (This was with r495.)
