Screen Melt, Burn, and Crossfade instead shows a grey screen

This happens in GZDoom 1-5-06. Is there any way to make the Screen Wipe Style work properly?

The developers here are going to need one heck of a lot more information than you're providing here. This sounds like a bug with your video card drivers, rather than GZDoom itself.

What's needed is your graphics processor make (e.g. NVidia, ATI, Intel, etc), model (2400, 9000M, whether it's in a laptop or not, etc), and what version of drivers you are using (e.g. Catalyst 10.5, NVidia 263.09), as well as your operating system (Windows XP? 7?).

Also, is it happening with any mods loaded?

Without this information, your report will most likely just be ignored and closed.

This sounds like the framebuffer readback on your system is not working. It's most likely a hardware specific problem because for others it's obviously working properly.

So please post your hardware specs.

ok it's an Intel processor, Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express with 128.0 MB internal memory, a desktop
computer, the main driver is ialmrnt5.dll, and it is an XP system. Also, it still happens when running mods.

What happens if you make screenshots? Do they work?

Yes, but I'm not sure how they work so I'll have to describe it. :P

...And for some strange reason instead of a grey screen it shows all of these rows of color. The colors look something like the level you have entered. So if I idclev from Entryway to Grosse, the color slowly change from a greenish/brownish color to a redish/whitish color. Very trippy indeed. Anyways I wanted to say that I have come to the conclusion that it is a hardware problem, and i'm content with playing without a screen style (that is how I play anyway). Thank you for the input, I will still be listening if anyone figures it out! ^_^

Given that the screenshot captures an actual transition effect but you can't see it when you play, it does indeed sound like your hardware is the problem - ie GZdoom is doing what it is meant to be but your graphics card isn't showing it.

I'm sorry to say that, with you having an Intel graphics card, it's not really surprising. Intel graphics cards have quite justifiably got themselves a reputation for very bad quality and an inability to do what they claim to. Basically, they are extreme budget units that only just cling on to the bottom rung of the features that they claim to support and it is not unusual for them to simply not actually do what they are meant to. I have been on a number of game forums where Intel graphics cards have let their owners down. Sometimes updating drivers helps (I had an old machine that couldn't play Quake 3 engined games in OpenGL but after updating the drivers it did) but the only real cure is to get a better card. Whether you think that is a viable option or not is, of course, up to you.
