[r1281] GZDoom crashes on running my pk3 (150MB)

Hello. I might not be the right person to stay around these places, but... there's an IMPORTANT thing that comes out from work that I need to consult.
I've got this heavy as hell pk3 (150MB in size) that makes GZDoom.exe crash on run. I've tried dragging my file into the exe, running a shortcut with it's parameters inside, etc.
The thing is, the maps are alright, even MAP01 and TITLEMAP which don't have (methinks) mapping problems. Might be due to the incredible size, but I don't really know. I searched undercover far and wide for a similar issue but I didn't find anything.
So, excuse my comeback, but I really need a solution for this for once.
I attach a crash report.

And the file in question will be uploaded soon if needed.

The crash happens when it's not in a level, so it's unrelated to maps themselves.

I also don't think it's just a question of size. GZDoom can handle Aeons of Death.

Windows NT 4.0?
Does it even run on such old software even without your project?

Anyway, from the startup log it looks like the crash happens before anything significant is done at all and your crash log doesn't give any hint to the crash location - the call stack is bogus. Please have this tested on a more modern OS first to see if it's your computer or your mod which is the problem here.

Windows 7 64bit. I don't know why it's still NT 4.0 anyway (I guess it's the old laptop where Windows 7 is). I've tested it there. And I did too with XP and worked fine, but we're mostly interested in making it work on Windows 7. I've also tested GZDoom on FreeDoom, and did work fine. The curious thing is that I try to load other mods in GZDoom and they just won't load, instead, only the IWAD is loaded.
Anyway, you might need the minidump I guess? I'm also almost done uploading the pk3 in question.

EDIT: File's done uploading.
File name: rep_gureak.zip File size: 70.63 MB

EDIT: I still need to see if it works on other systems rather than this laptop.

I tested the file and, yes, it crashed on me as well (Windows XP SP3).

The issue here is that the pk3 is corrupted or something. I tried to open it with both WinRAR and 7-Zip, but I get an error from both softwares upon doing that.

What error message did you get and, more importantly, what version of 7z are you using? There was an update to version 9.20 of 7z some time ago but a lot of people seemed to have missed it. Files made with the new version by default cannot be opened in the old version. So if the file was made with the new 7z but you still ave the old one then there will be problems. I think (G)ZDoom can handle the new version so I'm just trying to rule out an old version of 7z as the cause for your problem Blue Shadow.

I would check myself but I'll need to be on a better connection to grab a big file (even the slimmed down one is a bit big for my connection).

I'm using what I believe to be the latest version of 7-Zip (9.22 beta), so I don't think that's the problem. As for the error message, well, 7-Zip doesn't recognize the pk3 file as a "valid" archive and WinRAR says something like "Unexpected end of archive".

Maybe zipping the file from Windows 7's zip feature was a mistake? I'm reuploading that thing again. (Though it will take me 'til tomorrow to get it uploaded.)

EDIT: I figured out later that the file is corrupted. So no need for more shit like this. I will get back to work tomorrow, reextract from there the contents of the pk3 and pack it again properly.
Anyway, does that have something to do with Slade?

Quick question? Is there any way to repair corrupted data in a pk3?

Don't you have backups? If you used SLADE, it generates them automatically when saving.

Anyway, to answer your questions, since a pk3 is just a zip: google.

Not really. They were lost during development. But I'll just try the first result on that google and tell you later.

I tried several ZIP repair programs. Didn't work yet.

I have had very little success with repairing zips in the past. Even when a repair program tells you that the zip has been repaired it can simply mean that the contents are now in a format that can be extracted but the actual data in the individual files can still be corrupted.

Now I did "fix" from Windows 7 with Zip2Fix 1.0 the file, I did a small modification, tested it, started the first level and...
GZDoom closes without any error itself.
Is this familiar to you?

Have you checked that the data inside the zip wasn't corrupt?
