[r???? - r1401] A shimmering effect on 3d floors with fog

Let's say you have a room with with a 3d floor "structure" in it, and you have fog applied to the room's sectors except the sector where the 3d floor is "drawn", you get this shimmering-like effect on the sides of the 3d floor. However, if all the sectors are fogged, the issue is no longer there.

In the attached WAD below, you'll appear in the room (Room #1) showing the issue (It's more obvious when you move towards the 3d floor stucture). You can use the teleporter to go to another replica of the same room (Room #2) where every sector has fog applied to it, including the sector with the 3d floor. You'll notice that the issue is not there anymore.
Spoiler: Room #1
Spoiler: Room #2
You'll find some disccusion about this here.
Spoiler: My System Specs (Yeah, I know it's ancient old :p)

I too get the effect on my GTX 285 graphics card so it's not related to your intel chip.

It looks like z-fighting between the 3D floor textures and the fog boundary.

That's precisely what it is. Problems with 3D floors and any kinds of mid textures on their outer linedefs - that includes fog boundaries - are inevitable and a fix is rather unlikely.
