I use gzdoom quite often and like it but it does not work for my laptop, It comes up with an error saying 'GZDoom has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.'

What version of GZDoom?
Which IWAD are you trying to load?
And what kind of hardware and OS do you have?

I'm using version 1.6.0 of gzdoom which just came out, i wasn't using any custom custom wads just doom2. My laptop is a 64-bit OS my processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz and my Ram is 4.00 GB (3.86 GB usable). I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, is that the right stuff?

And your graphics card?
Also, if you have the crash report, attach it here.

I don't mean to bump this but has anyone got any ideas that might fix this problem?

Apparently it crashes when attempting to get OpenGL informations from your drivers. Have you checked if you can upgrade the Catalyst drivers?

I checked and it said 'the best driver software for your device is already installed' and that my driver is up to date.

That sounds like the Windows driver update message - you know the one where you tell Windows to update the drivers and after showing you a progress bar for a little while it comes back and tells you that you have the latest drivers. I'm sure that thing doesn't actually check anything anywhere. I have never seen it actually find an update.
Anyway, rant over, if you did use the Windows update driver thingy, that's not the best way to get drivers for your video card. If that is the case, you should go to the ATI catalyst website instead and download the drivers from there.
If you already did that, disregard this post.

Thanks Enjay, it works now. I did try to install the latest ATI catalyst driver before but i guess i downloaded the wrong one, i used the AMD driver auto detect and it found the right one
