I'm on Win7 64 bit, I have GZDoom 1-8-02 and Brutal Doom 19. I got the doom2.wad file from Doom II: Hell On Earth that I purchased on Steam. The game will not load and keep giving me a crash report. I've attached the crash report it generated.

Does the crash happen if you're playing "plain" Doom (i.e., without mods)?

From the crash log, the crash seems to originate from your ATI OpenGL driver. Try updating the driver, if updates are available, and see if it fixes it.

Oh, and could you provide the specs of your graphics card, so the developers now what they're dealing with?

I'll try that, the video adapter is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730.

I think the problem is not so much to do with GZDoom but with my video drivers. GZDoom was working fine for me before then I stopped playing it for a bit. Since then (and because of an unrelated problem) I tried updating my display drivers and ran into problems with that. GZDoom just seem to be a symptom of the problems that I'm having with the new ATI drivers. I tried to play it now and had the issue I mentioned above. I tried re-creating the whole setup (Downloading GZDoom and brutal doom ect... )

When you mentioned that the problems seems to originate with my ATI OpenGL drives that got me thinking about the display drive issues I had. So right now before I bother getting Brutal Doom working and I need to get this driver issue resolved. But thanks for the help.

Fyi, this is the true latest stable version of GZDoom.

Well, yes, it is. But I doubt that it'll make a difference, since the OP's problem seems to be driver-related; it's not GZDoom itself that's crashing.

It was a general tip, though.
