The Post's title speaks for itself.

When I launch one of my many Iwads or Pwads using GZDoom, I wish it to launch automatically loading the most recent save file I saved (not an autosave file). This would save time and is Usually what I want.

I have been unable to find if this is possible and IF so how I should do it.

This desire is base dona feature I always used with Risen D Games which allow automatically loading the latest map played OR the more specific option of the latest save file.

No, this is not possible and the necessary information is not stored anywhere.
It's also not trivial because available savegames depend on loaded mods.

Thanks for your very fast reply Graf Zahl. I was afraid that this is the case.

Am I correct in assuming that as you say "It's also not trivial..." that there is no point in me adding this desire to the GZDoom Development Wish List?

May I also ask please.
Do you believe this a feature that could possibly be added to a GUI Front End/Launcher like ZDL or ZDE instead of GZDoom itself?
I ask because Risen 3D is both a FrontEnd and an Engine I believe and in ITS case, I have no idea if the feature is dependent upon its engine, its Launcher/FrontEnd or both parts of the application.
