DRD Team

I drag brutalv20b.pk3 to gzdoom.exe then pick Doom 2 but the "modern/classic" and difficulty menus do not show I start at vanilla doom 2 map with Brutal Doom weapons

Go to the Player Options tab in Options, and then see what the option is on class. If the class is either Modern, Classic, or Random, you should be good to go.
