i downloaded the app, but it says it's missing somes files or stuff.

What version did you download and what's the error precisely?

i am using version 2.3.2, or at least what it says on my mac. i posted a screenshot of the error but i guess i fucked up. this reply should have the file attached.

The "app" is only the game engine. The game data (graphics, sounds, maps etc) are still commercial products and you have to own them, or one of the free community produced alternatives. These resources are found in the IWAD files that your error message speaks of.

well, i downloaded doom2.wad and a few others but it gives me the same error message, do i need to put them in a specific file or something for gzdoom to access it?

Please read the error message again. It clearly explains to where IWADs should be copied.

sorry for my dumb questions, i'm really a user friendly only guy, i get lost if it doesn't run automatically when i double-click on it. but i get another error message now when i try to run the glorious doom2.wad

There is no shareware version of Doom II. Where did you get this IWAD?
What will happen if you just start GZDoom without any command line parameters or files dropped on the application icon?

i can't remember wehere i found it, mght need to download it elsewhere, however, despite it saying i can't do whatever with the shareware version, it does work with the shareware version of doom1.

It does sound like you are not using a legitimate copy. Please note that we do not support warez/abandonware here. If you need a free version of Doom, consider checking out [wiki]Freedoom[/wiki].

We will not help you get an illegitimate copy working.
