Line_AlignSlope(id,position);

Post by Tormentor667 »

This would make textures on a wall with "id" slope with the plane of the sloped sector itself (position defines if ceiling or floor is used as reference)

Textures that are sheared and manipulated so that they follow the slope of a floor or ceiling. For example, if you had a ramp, and a wall with horizontal stripes, the stripes on the wall could be sheared to follow the slope of the ramp. I'm all for the idea.

I think this was once asked about over at Zdoom.org. People seemed to like the idea, generally, but I don't think there has been anything done about implementing the feature. Some of timmie's earlier ZdoomGL versions had this in some circumstances, but, in that case, it was a bug not a feature.

You know, I'd really like to add some texture scaling features. However, this would only make sense if it worked in the software renderer as well but unfortunately I don't understand that code well enough to change it so it'd be up to Randy - and I think we all know what would come out of that... :(

Not scale, slope :) Here is an example:

The wall texture at the side of the sloped sectors gets vertically aligned to the floor or ceiling, whatever you choose as reference!
