Random Crashing in GZdoom 1.0.4

When I got the new version of GZdoom, version 1.0.4, the engine froze on me at random locations (once when playing Vile Flesh, the second time when I was playing Scythe II). I was unable to get to the error message, as I could not alt-tab out of the game for debugging. I'm not sure whether the engine or my computer has something wrong with it, but hopefully this will be fixed.

This is a relatively common occurence in all the versions, or at least it used to be for me. I actually had this more frequently in the 0.9.## versions. GZDoom just freezes and refuses to do anything.

I haven't had an untraceable crash for several months now. With some versions before 0.9.20 it was quite frequent though.

Were you attacking a flying monster when it locked?

I had only 2 random crashes so far. The game gets a bit laggy and then the frame rate drops for a second. Then all of a sudden, it would just freeze off completely. I can't even CTRL+ALT+DEL the game. But it's something minor and doesn't really cause any serious issues.
