new flats added to WAD are distorted in game

Post by cokeman118 »

I wanted to test out adding some new flats to a WAD file but have some questions. When adding flats, do you have to replace existing flats from Doom/Doom II, etc, or can you create entirely new ones with new names? I followed the instructions in XWE and put in the flat into a new wad. From the instructions is seemed like you could just put in a new flat with any name, as long as it's inbetween FF_Start and FF_End. I ran Doom Builder and added the wad with the new flat. I was able to use it in the editor, and it showed the flat in 3D editing mode, however when I run the game the floor is all distorted. Can anyone help me out with this?

I just tired this again, but named the flat the same as an in-game flat, still the graphics are distorted. What am I doing wrong?

Click the flat and go to image. It should be below "Save" IIRC. (I can't check right now since I'm on a computer without XWE)
